Whole-Home Rewiring in Saco & Southern Maine

Full house rewiring for older homes in Saco, Biddeford, and Southern Maine. Knob-and-tube removal, code upgrades, and clean workmanship.

If your home in Saco or Biddeford was built before 1960, theres a good chance it still has original wiring. Knob-and-tube, cloth-wrapped Romex, or even aluminum wiring from the 70s. None of that was designed for how we use electricity today. Bouchard's Electric does full whole-home rewiring across Southern Maine — weve been doing it since 2001.

What Does a Whole-Home Rewire Include?

We pull out all the old wiring, install new copper Romex throughout the entire house, put in a new 200-amp panel, add grounded outlets everywhere, and bring the whole system up to current NEC code. Most rewires take about a week depending on the size of the house. We always pull permits and schedule inspections.

How Do We Work in Older Homes?

Rewiring an old house isnt like wiring new construction. You cant just rip walls open everywhere. We know how to fish wire through old plaster walls, work in balloon-frame construction, and minimize the holes we make. When were done, you shouldnt see much evidence we were there besides the new outlets and panel.
