Level 2 Home EV Charger Installation

A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240-volt, 40-to-50-amp circuit — the same kind of circuit your dryer or oven uses. It charges most EVs from empty to full in 6–10 hours, which means you plug in when you get home and wake up with a full battery.

Most residential EV charger installations in the Saco area take us about half a day. If your panel already has room for a 50-amp breaker and is 200 amps, it’s a straightforward install. We run a dedicated circuit from your panel to wherever you park — garage, carport, or driveway — mount the charger, and test everything.

If you need a panel upgrade first, we handle both at the same time so you’re not scheduling two separate jobs.

Tesla Wall Connector Installation

The Tesla Wall Connector is Tesla’s own home charger and it’s what most Tesla owners in Southern Maine end up going with. It delivers up to 48 amps and can add about 44 miles of range per hour of charging — way faster than the mobile connector that comes with the car.

We’ve installed dozens of Tesla Wall Connectors across Saco, Biddeford, Scarborough, and Kennebunk. The install requires a dedicated 60-amp circuit, which is a bit more than a standard Level 2 charger. We handle the full installation including running the circuit, mounting the unit, and making sure it’s communicating with your Tesla.

We also install Wall Connectors for multi-car households and can set up load sharing if you have two Teslas charging off the same circuit.

Do I Need a Panel Upgrade for an EV Charger?

This is the number one question we get. If your home has a 200-amp panel with available breaker space, you probably don’t need an upgrade. If you’re on a 100-amp panel — which a lot of older homes in Saco and Biddeford still have — you’ll almost certainly need a panel upgrade before we can add a 50-amp EV circuit.
